The Garden Club
Last year a small area of the campus was cleared and fenced in order to create a space for the school Garden Club. The soil is really just sand, but with a delivery of a load of manure and some thorough digging, the crops were then planted. The students in the Club tended them carefully, applied water and removed the weeds. And the crops grew, and grew, and grew! And even over the holiday they continued to grow, despite a lack of attention, and tomatoes were ripening for months afterwards. Following on from this great success a new selection of crops is now taking root and we look forward to another bumper harvest!
