We are up and running. A very warm welcome, or welcome back, to the parents of the Luanda International School community. If I might start by thanking all the staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their support and hard work over the past few weeks. It has been a commendable effort to get us up and running and ready for action. Building work, as those who have visited the campus will know, is continuing apace and our new Arts Block (which looks fabulous) is very near completion. Our other buildings i.e. changing rooms, multi-purpose primary room, staff recreation area and car park are all well advanced and not far off schedule. We have also concreted over a large part of the sand area to make a better playing surface for PE and this area is currently being fenced to improve safety. Finally, visitors will also notice that our generators are also being re-housed; this building is again in the interest of safety. Inevitably all these projects create their own difficulties and we regret that currently much of the play area is cordoned off and parking on campus is severely restricted. Students have been told that any cordoned off area is strictly out of bounds and we ask parents to let drivers know that we now have only very limited onsite parking. |
