LIS is happy to have been part of this year’s annual EAMUN(East African Model United Nations) conference in Nairobi. The conference provided an exceptional opportunity for our delegation of six students, representing the country of Turkey, to propose amendments and be part of a collaborative effort to find solutions to global issues.
Participating in this event proved to be an exciting experiential learning opportunity for our delegates, who had the privilege of walking the same paths as real UN delegates and occupying the same conference rooms! Sitting in committees of about 150 delegates, our students had to be creative in line with parliamentary procedures to get the attention of the chairs, enabling them a chance to raise their points of information as well as speeches in support of or in opposition to the motions.
Our delegates came back confident and equipped with diplomacy, foreign policy, public speaking skills and much more.
